Hyperspace Ventures recently partnered up with Equipped, an exciting venture founded by Dan Mandelman and Navjot Singh. Dan and Navjot are driven, entrepreneurial MBA students at Stanford who created Equipped to democratize equipment rentals. Prior to starting Equipped, Dan was an NBA associate with an expertise in bringing new ideas to fruition while Navjot was an extremely tech savvy engineer with experience working at Amazon's robotics division and Tesla's automation team.
Equipped allows users to seamlessly rent out equipment for several hours from large lockers, all through the convenience of their phones. Products range from sports equipments to board games and tools.
After months of user research and prototype development, Equipped caught the attention of Pear VC, a venture seed fund that works closely with bright Stanford MBA students through its Pear Summer Program. In exchange for a 5% equity stake in the company, each team receives $150,000 as well as invaluable amounts of mentorship from top venture capitalists and entrepreneurs in the Bay Area.
As the next step in their company journey, Equipped partnered with Hyperspace Ventures to develop the progressive web application responsible for allowing users to rent equipment on-demand. Keep an eye out for the alpha release of Equipped in the next few weeks, we look forward to see how they start making a dent in the universe!
