Hyperspace Ventures has acquired a majority stake in the Boca Surge, bringing the team under the Palm Beach Royals umbrella. The Surge compete in MLP Champions Series Pickleball, the top circuit for players aged 40+, 50+, and 60+. The combined franchise will now compete as the Palm Beach Royals Champions, creating the first unified structure between a Major League Pickleball team and a Champions Series team.
Now integrated into the broader Royals platform, the Palm Beach Royals Champions are positioned at a $1,000,000 valuation, reflecting expanded commercial opportunities, shared infrastructure, and brand alignment.
The move brings together two sides of the sport. The Royals represent the next wave of pro talent, while the Champions roster adds established players from the senior pro circuit. Under one organization, the team can reach a broader audience across formats, age groups, and fan bases.
From an operating standpoint, the integration creates a more cohesive brand and stronger positioning across sponsorships, media, and events. It also enables more consistent storytelling, with both emerging and veteran players tied to a single identity.
This acquisition is part of Hyperspace Ventures’ broader strategy within pickleball. Alongside acquiring the Royals in 2025, Hyperspace has invested $5.3M in Pickleball Inc., focused on the infrastructure, media, and community layers driving the sport’s growth.
With Palm Beach Royals Champions now in place, the organization will be active across MLP Champions Series events while aligning with the MLP calendar. The goal is to build a platform that connects multiple levels of the sport under one system and scales with the game as it continues to grow.
